Following his retirement, Warwickshire legend Jeetan Patel answered questions from Members for one last time earlier this week.
“Yes, it has been,” Patel answered when asked whether it’s been an emotional time for Club Journalist Brian Halford. “Going into that last round robin game not knowing when anything would finish was a weird way to go into it.
“The result didn’t go our way and it’s been an emotional three weeks. During these Covid times, the grounds are empty and we’re trying as hard as we can to win games without the usual support we get.
“It’s been emotional to think that I won’t get the opportunity to go out to Edgbaston and play again or play cricket full stop.
“But I’m glad I came over, glad I was given the opportunity by the club to come over and get some closure.”
