Warwickshire County Cricket Club were saddened to hear of the death on August 3rd of former wicketkeeper and right-hand batsman John George Fox.

“Jack” as he was known, made his debut for the club in 1959 against Northamptonshire at Northampton and played 43 matches for Warwickshire between 1959-1961.

His highest score for the club was 52 against India at Edgbaston in 1959.

Born in County Durham on July 22nd 1929, Jack played for his native county in Minor Counties Cricket from 1950-58 and having left Warwickshire in 1961 resumed his association with Durham from 1962-64 before playing for Devon in 1968-69.
