Bears’ leading 2022 Vitality Blast wicket-taker Jake Lintott has signed a new contract extension to keep him at the Club until at least the end of the 2025 season.

The wrist-spinner penned a T20 Blast deal following his successful trial in 2020, taking ten wickets, before signing his first professional deal with the Club in 2021.

Since then, Lintott has become a rock in the Bears T20 bowling unit, adding 44 wickets with his left-arm wrist-spin and variations.

Securing 15 wickets in 2021, he has gained valuable experience in T20 leagues around the world playing for Southern Brave in The Hundred, Fortune Barishal in the Bangladesh Premier League, Barbados Royals in the Caribbean Premier League and currently the Desert Vipers in the International League T20.

A determined personality, Lintott is ready to use his experiences to surpass the 22 wickets he took last year.

“I’m delighted to extend my stay with the Bears,” said Lintott. “Edgbaston has become my home and I’m excited by what the future can hold.

“We have a strong squad who are determined to build on the success we showed last year. With the records we broke in 2022, we know as a group we can go one better and reach Finals Day at home. That’s our aim this year and I’m confident we can achieve it.

“I’m someone who is always keen to learn and the experiences I’ve encountered in recent months will give me plenty of confidence heading into the season.”

First Team Coach Mark Robinson is confident he’ll continue to make a big impact at Edgbaston.

He said: “Jake has become an important player in our squad, so we’re thrilled that he’s extended his stay. Jake’s skills give us a unique dimension to our bowling line-up and we’re confident that he’ll continue to become one of the competition’s best spinners.”
