Jeetan Patel has been voted as the Greatest Ever Bears T20 Player after taking 30 per cent of the votes in our latest poll.
Bears legend Patel narrowly pipped long-time team-mate Neil Carter into second place after another bumper vote by Warwickshire supporters (many thanks to all who cast their vote!).
Black Caps ace ‘Jeets’ has been a linchpin in the Bears’ teams in all formats for a decade but nowhere more than in T20 where his skilful spin-bowling, usually in mid-innings, has been decisive to countless wins for his side.
In 130 T20 matches for the Bears he has taken 135 wickets at 23.78 while creating pressure which has led to probably the same number of wickets, or more, falling at the other end.
Tim Ambrose kept wicket in most of those matches and believes that Patel is right up there with the best.
“Jeets has a reputation in the game that it’s hard to find words to do justice to,” Ambrose said. “In my opinion, he has been the best bowler in the country for years.

“The pace he can bowl at while still maintaining the shape and spin on the ball is amazing. He also has the subtle variations that he has created and now has that reputation where guys are well aware he is the best bowler in the country.”
