Warwickshire Women’s team Wicket-Keeper Amy Jones has linked up with Western Fury to play in Australia’s domestic Women’s National Cricket League.

Jones and Lancashire seamer Kate Cross will be available for the duration of the 50-over competition, which runs until February 2018 either side of the Ashes and Women’s Big Bash League.

It’s important that as many of our players as possible are getting the opportunity to test themselves by playing good, competitive cricket.

Now in its 22nd year, the tournament has been won by the New South Wales Breakers on no less than 18 occasions.  Jones and Cross will be hoping to help the Fury to their first title.

England coach Mark Robinson said: “It’s important that as many of our players as possible are getting the opportunity to test themselves by playing good, competitive cricket.

“Neither Amy nor Kate have been able to play as regularly as we would have liked over the last year so this is a good chance for them to test themselves and improve their skills.”
