Fast bowler Richard Jones has signed a permanent deal with Leicestershire.

Jones, who joined the Foxes on loan earlier this season, will continue his loan at the Fischer County Ground until the end of the season and has signed to stay until at least the end of the 2018 campaign.

Warwickshire CCC Director of Cricket Dougie Brown said: “Richard has been a great professional during his time at Edgbaston and is very highly thought of by all within the playing and coaching squad. We thank him for his contribution to the team and wish him the very best for his future with Leicestershire CCC.”

Leicestershire CCC Elite Performance Director Andrew McDonald said: “It’s fantastic that we’ve managed to secure Richard on a two-year deal, he’s made an impact here both on and off the field and we look forward to having him with us permanently.

“Richard has demonstrated his skill sets by swinging the ball both ways at good pace. He has enjoyed playing regular cricket, and we’re grateful to Warwickshire for allowing us to take Richard on loan in the first instance.”
