Warwickshire Women travel to Old Trafford on Wednesday 13 May to take on Lancashire, as they bid to return to winning ways in the Metro Bank One Day Cup. Here’s what you need to know…

Bears’ form guide (last three)
L-W-L
Warwickshire will look to return to winning ways after slipping to defeat last time out against Durham. At the halfway stage, the signs were good for the Bears. Batting first, they posted 289 for six thanks to 50s from opener Davina Perrin and the in-form Charis Pavely, however, Durham responded well with the bat to pick up their second win of the season.

Warwickshire remain one of the highest-scoring teams in the Metro Bank One Day Cup, having scored more than 280 runs in all but one of their six matches so far.

Three in focus

Hannah Baker
With seven wickets in this year’s Metro Bank One Day Cup, Hannah Baker has had an encouraging start to her 2026 campaign. The right arm leg spinner took two wickets in her last outing against Durham. Baker, who made her One Day International debut in 2024 for England, will be looking to build on that performance against Lancashire.

Charis Pavely
The runs keep coming for left-hander Charis Pavely, and so does the recognition. Pavely is now the second-highest run scorer in the Metro Bank One Day Cup, with 400 runs coming at an astounding average of exactly 100. With two 100s and a 50 in her last three outings, that form has forced England to take note, with the 21-year-old called up to the England squad for the first time this past weekend.

Eve Jones (Lancashire)
Another player finding form is Eve Jones, who has been the pick of Lancashire’s batters throughout this year’s Metro Bank One Day Cup. After missing a large part of the 2025 season due to injury, the left-hander has come back firing, scoring 284 runs from six matches at an average of 47.

Opposition insight

Lancashire sit alongside Warwickshire in the current standings, with both teams recording two wins from their first six matches of the campaign, however the Red Rose come into this week’s fixture having triumphed in emphatic fashion against Durham last time out. Batting first, Lancashire scored an imposing 303 for eight thanks largely to Gaby Lewis’ 131 which came off just 116 balls, and Jones, who scored 82 at the top of the order. Emma Lamb then took four for 29 to help Lancashire to a 149-run win.

Previous meetings

Lancashire got the better of Warwickshire on both occasions in 2025, winning by 101 runs at Edgbaston before coming out on top by five wickets in a rain-affected game later in the season.

In the first fixture, 50s from Emma Lamb, Katie Mack and Sophie Eccleston saw Lancashire post 276 for eight, with Georgia Lamb (three for 45) the pick of the Warwickshire bowlers. In reply, five wickets from Fi Morris helped Lancashire ease to victory.

The return fixture saw Bears runs come from Amu Surenkumar (49), Sterre Kalis (43) and Abbey Freeborn (60) as they reached 283 for seven from their 50 overs. After rain halted play six overs into Lancashire’s reply, they were set a revised target of 172 to win in 22 overs, and thanks to a partnership of 106 off 73 balls between Gaby Lewis and Seren Smale, Lancashire got there with five balls to spare.
