Liam Norwell is thankful for all the support he's received since joining the club in the winter.

Liam Norwell appreciates all the messages he’s receiving following his stellar debut.

After a long injury layoff with Gloucestershire last season (hamstring), the injury bug returned with a pectoral injury which hampered his pre-season and forced him to miss the whole of the One Day Cup.

It was incredibly frustrating for the seam bowler, especially one desperate to prove his skills in Division One cricket.

But with every down there’s an up and that’s the support the 27-year-old has found himself surrounded with at Edgbaston.

“I’ve had so much support from everyone involved,” said Norwell after taking nine wickets at Taunton.

“The second I joined Warwickshire the medical team in Mozzy (Gerhart Mostert) and Jack (Murfin) have been superb and they’ve got me playing.

“Hopefully I’m over the main hamstring problem from last year so I can’t thank them enough.

“Last year was quite a dark year,” added Norwell.

“It is when you don’t play a game of cricket all year.

“I’ve got a really supportive wife and great support at home and the lads in the changing room have been so supportive to me.

“I can’t thank them enough either.”
