Lucy Hamilton has been withdrawn from the 2026 edition of The Hundred after recently being awarded a Central Contract by Cricket Australia.

The left-arm seamer was acquired during the direct signings window and is regarded as an exciting young bowler who has impressed through the Australian pathway with her genuine variety, potent wicket-taking threat and ability to contribute across formats.

Following her good form domestically and for the Australia national team, she has been awarded a Central Contract and has therefore been withdrawn from the tournament this year.

Birmingham Phoenix Performance Director, James Thomas, said: “We were very excited to have signed Lucy to the Birmingham Phoenix in the pre-auction window. Since then she has gone from strength to strength, now featuring in Australia’s 2026 World Cup squad.

“For any athlete, it’s important to carefully manage workload and whilst we are disappointed Lucy won’t be with us for the summer, we are looking forward to her joining the squad for the 2027 season.”

A replacement will be announced following the Vitality Wildcard Draft on Thursday 18 June.
