Warwickshire Women Head Coach, Ali Maiden, says his side will keep striving to turn their form around after they fell to a 27-run defeat away at Durham.

Defeat sees the Bears lose for a fourth consecutive game to start their 2026 Vitality Blast campaign.

With a week until their next outing, against The Blaze at Trent Bridge, Maiden insists his team will continue to work hard to put a complete performance together next time out.

“We need to put some work in next week and go into the next game feeling confident and ready to put in a good performance,” he said.

“We need to keep working hard, trying to right the things that we’re not doing, and we need to keep believing.

“What we can’t do is stop believing, and know that if we play better cricket, we can win games.

“We’re trying to put things right all the time. Hopefully in the next game we can perform on both sides, with bat and ball, at the level we know we can do.”

The Bears put in a disciplined display with the ball to restrict the hosts to 140 for five from their 20 overs, but struggled to deal with a testing pitch in their reply, eventually slipping to 113 all out.

“We did lots of things much better in the field than we have done, so the fielding and the bowling in particular was pleasing,” Maiden added.

“We’re disappointed obviously. We know that we’re not playing great at the minute.

“We thought we’d done well to restrict them to 140, and then we found the pitch a little bit tricky.

“We needed one of our top six to get a score. Somebody to put their hand up to get 60 or 70 to win that game and unfortunately nobody did. Ultimately that’s where we’ve come unstuck.”

The Bears are next in action against The Blaze next Friday 5 June at Trent Bridge, starting at 2:30pm.
