Warwickshire's new overseas batsman Pieter Malan can't wait to start the season as a Bear.
And the 31-year-old, who has played three Test matches for South Africa, was well versed to the Warwickshire Proteas connection.
“I’ve remembered Warwickshire for a while because I know Allan Donald played in Birmingham so there’s already that South African connection,” said Malan.
“Neil Carter played at Warwickshire for quite a while and we’ve actually been training as he’s at Bishops, Cape Town so I see him quite often.
“He actually sent me a message and said ‘all the best, it’s a great club to go to’ so I’ve only heard good things.”
