Bears First Team Coach Mark Robinson says he's 'proud of the effort put in' by his side in a match that saw a handshake late into the final day.

“You are proud of the effort they’ve put in, the quality they’ve shown at times and the desire to win,” said Robinson.

“That looked like an unlikely chase, but all the players and batters talked about was this was doable. The wicket has flattened out and it’s reasonably hard to score if someone bowls straight, but there was desire to win.

“It was a shame that run out happened, because it curtailed the run chase as it was. We marshalled it quite well with Alex Davies and Will Rhodes to get it to around 130 from 20 overs. The game was on, but unfortunately to lose two quickly in Rhodes and Michael Burgess halted us.

“We haven’t lost, we live to fight another day and the desire was to win.”
