Overseas all-rounder Nathan McAndrew has been called up to the Australia A squad in Sri Lanka and will miss the LV= Insurance County Championship fixture against Lancashire starting on Sunday at Edgbaston.

McAndrew, who joined Warwickshire this summer and was initially available for 10 red-ball games this summer, has been called into the squad following an injury to Mitchell Starc which has seen Jhye Richardson promoted to the senior squad.

McAndrew will miss the four-day fixture at Edgbaston this week but is expected to return for the County Championship fixture against Northamptonshire at the County Ground starting on Sunday 26 June.

Warwickshire Director of Cricket, Paul Farbrace, commented; “It is always an honour to get selected to play for your country at any level and Nathan goes to Sri Lanka with our blessing and we look forward to his return for the next round of the County Championship.”

Tickets for all LV= Insurance County Championship fixtures at Edgbaston are available to buy online at tickets.edgbaston.com with adults tickets £15 and under 16s go free to all games.
