All-rounder Nathan McAndrew says he's 'stoked' to join the Bears as their red ball overseas signing.

The South Australian Redback was the second-highest Sheffield Shield wicket-taker this year and was desperate for an opportunity in England.

Step forward the Bears, who are looking for options to fill the void left by the retiring Tim Bresnan. McAndrew, 28, was originally scheduled to join the side in pre-season, but with worldwide visa issues, he arrived during Warwickshire’s win over Essex.

“It’s been a strange couple of weeks leading into this with the visa issues, but it’s good to get it across the line and I’m stoked to be here,” McAndrew said.

“It’s an amazing ground with a great bunch of fellas so it’s been a really positive first impression. It’s been a constant unknown, but I’ve been ready to go with my suitcase packed. It was definitely frustrating as I wanted to get cracking and have a good lead up to the games.

“I’ve had a good bowl, I’m feeling good and I can’t wait for the game.”
