Warwickshire County Cricket Club’s official charity, the Edgbaston Foundation, has announced a Community Open Day which it hopes will inspire more local youngsters to get involved in cricket.

Taking place at Edgbaston Stadium on Sunday 25 June, more than 500 cricket bats and balls will be given away at the Edgbaston Foundation Open Day to give local youngsters their first cricketing experience. There will also be cricket skills workshops, a funfair and a chance to meet the Birmingham Bears players as part of an open training session.

This year we want to open our doors and welcome the community by giving them a chance to meet the players and watch them train.

The format of the day is:

10am – Gates Open

11am – Open Training Session with the Birmingham Bears Squad

1pm – Warwickshire Visual Impairment Team Demonstration

2pm- Exclusive Junior Bears Press Conference- contact emmawindsor@edgbaston.com for any questions

1pm – 5pm – Inflatable Fun Fair Open

Parents simply need to register for the Edgbaston Foundation Community Day and attend on the day to receive a bat, ball and information about regular cricketing opportunities for their child.

In addition to the activities throughout the day, Birmingham Bears will also be fundraising for the Edgbaston Foundation, which aims to provide positive educational and sporting opportunities that help disadvantaged young people develop more life skills.
