The new county season gets underway on Saturday as the Bears entertain Northamptonshire in the opening round of the Bob Willis Trophy at Edgbaston.

In the latest Members’ Q&A, Paul Farbrace and Jim Troughton spoke about the squad’s return to training, what they have seen during the initial friendly matches and their thoughts on the Club’s red and white ball fortunes in 2020.

“We’re looking forward to the next couple of days and getting started again,” said Troughton.

“We’ve had two warm-up games so four days of cricket at Edgbaston and I think they’ve gone pretty well. We’re pretty happy with where the squad is and the way we’ve played the four days of cricket.

“I’m mindful that the season hasn’t started yet but the fact we’ve put in those four good days and come out on top I’m happy with the prep.

“I’m looking forward now to Saturday.”
