Warwickshire County Cricket Club is saddened to hear of the passing of Michael Cook following a short illness.

A wicketkeeper batsman, Cook represented Warwickshire in First Class cricket on two occasions in the early 1960s.

Cook scored 52 in his maiden First Class game in a winning effort against Cambridge University.

Following his appearances for Warwickshire, the family remained attached to club, regularly attending both Warwickshire and England games at Edgbaston, with Cook becoming a member for several years.

Cook’s brother, David, was also a former Warwickshire player, making nine first-class appearances for the Bears.

Warwickshire would like to send their sincere condolences to the Cook family at this difficult time.
