Dan Mousley believes the Derby Day atmosphere gets something extra out of him.

The all-rounder, who was once again voted Talbots Law Player of the Match, has won all four of the derby performances he’s been a part of so far.

“You can’t beat them,” said Mousley. “These derby games are the ones you always wanted to play in as a kid, so to get that opportunity to play in front of full house, l loved it.

“I just love playing in front of a crowd and it’s something I look forward to. They’re a really good opposition with really good players so we knew it was going to be a tough game.

“We’re absolutely over the moon to come away with a convincing win. We want to get into that top two for a home quarter-final and it’s something we’ll strive towards. Winning is a habit and if we keep doing that then it puts us in a great spot.”

Speaking of his own performance which started with a half-century before closing with four wickets, he added: “It’s a bit of a relief as I see myself as a batter. If I get three or four wickets in the game then I’m pleased, but I wanted to get a score. For it to come off today I’m relieved.”
