Dan Mousley showed a calm head on young shoulders as he accepted the Talbots Law Player of the Match award following the Bears home defeat to Worcestershire Rapids at Edgbaston.

The 23-year-old, who took a wicket before firing 68 with the bat, admits that whilst the Bears were outplayed on Friday night there will be no overreaction with three group games to go.

“It was one of those nights and they were just better than us which we can accept,” said Mousley. “We’re on a high, after winning so many games, and being top of the table, but we are going to have nights like this.

“There’s no need to be worried and we’ll dust ourselves down. We weren’t at our best and not as clinical, but that is the way T20 cricket is.”

Mousley added: “It was a great wicket, with a fast outfield, so we thought it was chaseable. 180 was a big score, but we always back ourselves. You want to beat Worcestershire at home, but they played some good cricket

“Sunday will come thick and fast and we can’t sulk about it. This is our third loss and we’ll go again on Sunday as one loss doesn’t make us a bad team.

“We’re a good team, with a lot of experience, and we’ll be ready to go.”
