Countdown to the international summer of cricket is on with just over a week to go until the Women's IT20 between England and Pakistan.

Taking place on Saturday 11 May, the fixture is the first international match of 2024 in the UK and the Club has seen record demand once again with over 13,000 tickets sold.

Only limited tickets are left in some stands with tickets now sold out in the Uber Eats Family Stand, South Lower Stand and Ragland Stand. Tickets in the Eric Hollies are also selling fast. Tickets are available from only £17, while U16s are only £5.

It follows the successful Women’s Ashes at Edgbaston in 2023 when a crowd of 19,527 smashed the record for the highest crowd for a standalone women’s international in the UK, outside of global events, beating the 15,187 at Lord’s in 2022 for the ODI versus India.

The fixture in 2023 achieved one of the venue’s highest ever customer experience scores with fans rated their experience nine out of 10 for the match.

Fans can look forward to seeing the ICC 2023 Women’s Cricketer of the Year, Nat Sciver-Brunt take to the field at Edgbaston, who scored over 360 T20 runs in 2023, including 81 not out against opponents Pakistan in Cape Town during the T20 World Cup.

Sciver-Brunt will be looking to replicate her performance on 11 May in front of a home crowd.

England’s bowling attack also included the top ranked IT20 bowler in Sophie Ecclestone, who alongside Sciver-Brunt was named in the ICC T20 Team of the Year. Ecclestone is already a fan favourite in Birmingham after dismissing Tahlia McGrath and Annabel Sutherland at Edgbaston in the 2023 Ashes series.

England are currently the number two ranked Women’s IT20 team in the world, while Pakistan are a team in form after a historic series win in New Zealand in December, becoming the first Women’s Asian nation to win an IT20 in New Zealand.

Pakistan’s batter Bismah Maroof reflected on their historic win saying: “It’s been our wish for a long time that we perform this way against the big teams and beat the big teams”. Pakistan will be looking to continue their form against England and looking to cause more upset on the world stage.
