Sport Director Paul Farbrace spoke after the Bears secured Danny Briggs on a three-year deal.
The 29-year-old has taken 568 wickets across all formats in an 11-year career in the professional game, which has seen him win two T20 Blast titles and a One-Day Cup with Hampshire. He has also won seven T20 International (T20I) and one One-Day International (ODI) caps for England to date.
“We think we’ve got a brilliant signing in Danny,” said Farbrace.
“He’s the right age, fantastic experience and he’s been to Finals Day so many times with Hampshire and Sussex.
“He’s obviously played for England and he’s still got aspirations to play international cricket and that’s really important.
“We’re not bringing someone in who is just happy to join Warwickshire, he’s happy to come and prove that with the pool of talent we’ve got in English cricket at the moment he’s still got those aspirations.”
