Paul Farbrace was asked whether he’s pleased with the season so far…

“Yes I am, because it’s where I want us to be. I think the key message is that this where we need to be as a club, where we want to be as a club and now it’s about going on and winning trophies.

“We’ve set our goal by 2024 to win the County Championship and we’ve set steps along the way that we had to achieve to be a realistic goal.

“This season our goal was to finish in the top two of our group and get ourselves into the top group and Super September and we’ve achieved that. We’ve done that very well.”

Paul Farbrace was asked our coping with COVID and injuries…

“Mark Robinson has done a fantastic job and what has impressed me is that when he first came in he talked about when we win and not if we win. He’s constantly talked about how we win.

“He’s driven people on. He is a softly spoken nice guy but he’s got a real drive and passion about him. He’s won in his life.”

Paul Farbrace was asked about the Royal London Cup…

“It’s tough for us. We have set a goal of qualifying for the knockout stage and that’s going to be really tough, because of the experience of the team we’re going to put out.

“But we want our players to play international cricket and for me that’s why you have a big staff and quality throughout. T

“Therefore, what it does mean for players like Manraj Johal, Ethan Brookes is that they’re going to get an opportunity in the competition which is fantastic for them.”

Paul Farbrace was asked about the overseas additions…

“All four have played a significant role for us.

“We’re not going to make any bones about it as Hanuma Vihari and Pieter Malan would have liked to score more runs, but what they brought for us in terms of their experience and knowledge was fantastic.

“In terms of Carlos, he’s been everything we wanted. He plays the game properly on the field, real entertainer in T20 cricket, but he’s got that relax nature in the field that keeps people calm.

“It was tough for Kyle coming in for two games, but again he brought a freshness to our group and he’s got a 100% record.”

Paul Farbrace was asked about the signing of Alex Davies…

“I think it’s a fantastic signing for us. He’s a high quality player that I’ve kept my eyes on from my days at Yorkshire and he was starting off at Lancashire.

“He’ll bring spikiness to our team, he’s a real character, fiesty on the field, but, again, it’s another addition that we need.”
