Overseas batsman Pieter Malan can't wait to kickstart his Warwickshire career.
The South African international had endured a frustrating 70-day stretch since signing for the Bears back home in Cape Town.
Initially signed to start the LV= Insurance County Championship campaign, Malan encountered visa issues, and once the red tape was removed, had to spend 10 days in isolation due to government COVID-19 protocols.
The 31-year-old followed the Bears progress keenly via the online live stream and, now at Edgbaston, is ready to don the Bear and Ragged Staff.
“It’s my first time here and it’s been a while,” said a relieved Malan. “Hopefully, it’s worth the wait.
“I’ve been watching most of the games on the live stream so I’ve been itching to start getting involved. I’m ready to go.”
