Georgia Redmayne is hoping to inspire Warwickshire Bears Women to a first Vitality Blast victory of the season when the Bears take on Surrey at Edgbaston Stadium as part of a huge doubleheader on Friday 26 June.

The Bears return to T20 cricket for the first time in over two weeks as in-form Surrey visit The People’s Home of Cricket, with play getting under way at 3:00pm.

Redmayne notched her first 50 of the 2026 season in the Metro Bank One Day Cup on Wednesday and is now looking to build on that as the team targets an upturn in their T20 form, starting with a good performance against a strong Surrey outfit.

“It’s always good to spend some time in the middle,” she said. “I’ve got a few starts in a lot of games, but haven’t kicked on, so obviously it’s been a little hard.

“As a team we probably haven’t had the momentum that we would’ve liked, especially in T20s, so it’s certainly nice to get out there personally.

“It was a bit of a battle in the heat, but maybe it switched me on a little bit. Hopefully I can score some more moving forward.

“Surrey have always been a strong team. They’re coming off a couple of losses in the 50-over format, and they’ve lost a few players to England and England A, but either way, I always like coming up against tough opponents. It allows you to challenge yourself against the best.”

The fixture against Surrey is a repeat of last year’s inaugural Women’s Vitality Blast final, where Surrey triumphed by five wickets.

Their form in T20 cricket this season sees them in second place in the standings, and in a strong position to reach the semi-finals for a second successive year.

Redmayne is expecting a difficult test but says the two-week gap in between T20 fixtures has been a benefit to the Bears.

“We obviously didn’t have the greatest first half to the Blast, and I think a few 50-over games can be really nice sometimes,” she added.

“With T20 tournaments, you’re playing a lot and you don’t have much time to work on your game. It’s hard to get that volume in your work.

“The 50-over cricket probably came at a nice time for us, and allowed both our bowlers and batters a little bit more time in the middle, space to think, and an opportunity to develop plans. That should hopefully be a benefit going into that back end of the summer.”

Play gets under way between Bears Women and Surrey at 3:00pm on Friday 26 June, with the starting 11 set to be announced at the toss.
