Report: Bears Women reach T20 County Cup Finals Day
Bears Women blew away Yorkshire Women with a commanding 10-wicket win to reach Finals Day of the inaugural Vitality T20 County Cup.
Ali Maiden’s side restricted an experienced Yorkshire team to 138 before Bears openers Abbey Freeborn and Davina Perrin smashed 139 in just 91 balls to seal victory.
Freeborn hit 11 fours and two sixes in an unbeaten 78 (47 balls) alongside Perrin who reached 58 not out (44 balls) at the finish.
The win means Bears Women take their place alongside The Blaze, Lancashire Thunder and Surrey Women in Finals Day at Taunton on Bank Holiday Monday.

Yorkshire were put in to bat by the Bears – who beat Tier Two side Devon to reach the Quarter Final – and were under pressure from the off.
Captain Lauren Winfield-Hill – who has more than 100 England appearances to her name – fell in the second over to Lancashire loanee seamer Hannah Rainey.
And the hosts – playing at Weetwood Playing Fields, Leeds – couldn’t shake the shackles of some accurate, persistent bowling from the Bears.
Left-arm wrist spinner Millie Taylor – who’s being coached by Warwickshire wrist spinner Jake Lintott – got three wickets in just her second start.
It included that of Dutch international Sterre Kalis – on loan at Bears Women but playing in the County Cup for parent side Yorkshire – after she mistimed a drive to skipper Georgia Davis.
Charis Pavely and Davis continued their good form with two wickets apiece and wicketkeeper Nat Wraith claimed two stumpings with some swift glove work.
And there was a wicket on debut for 18-year-old Amu Surenkumar after Yorkshire top scorer, England U19 player Erin Thomas, lofted a swipe to Bethan Ellis.
Bears reply was stifled in the opening overs – former England bowler Beth Langstone started with a maiden – but Freeborn and Perrin soon moved through the gears.
Freeborn clubbed her first six in the fourth over and the pair hit 10 boundaries in 18 balls in the middle overs as they made light work of the target.
