Report: Glamorgan v Bears, Second XI
George Garton showed his death bowling experience and nerve to help the Bears edge a thriller against Glamorgan at Sophia Gardens.
Garton, who has an international T20 cap with England and IPL experience, restricted the South Wales outfit to just three runs, when needing six from the final six balls. The left-armer went dot, one, one, before taking two wickets in the remaining three deliveries.
It was an exciting end in what destined to be a win for the hosts.
The Bears posted 182/7, with Isaac Mohammed striking 53 off just 29 balls, but with six players reaching double digits, a bigger score may have been left on the table.
Glamorgan reached 133/2 in 14th over, but when danger man Zen Malik departed for 82, bowled Lintott, the Bears took regular wickets before the tense crescendo.
Glamorgan struck 12 runs off the 17th over, 11 off the 18th, and ten off the 19th, before Garton finished the job to keep the visitors in the hunt for a Finals Day spot.
