Report: Glamorgan v Bears, Second XI T20
Will Rhodes’ excellent century proved to be in vein as Glamorgan edged a nail biter in their Second XI T20 fixture at Newport.
A perfect match for a neutral with plenty of ups and down throughout both innings, the hosts found the boundary with the final ball to secure a dramatic one wicket victory.
Put in to bat, Rhodes scored 100 of the 144 runs the Bears tallied, striking 13 fours in 71 balls. In reply, the hosts were 142/9 with two balls remaining, but the experienced James Harris ran two on the penultimate ball, before despatching the final ball for four.
Behind Rhodes, Josh Croom top scored with 18, whilst Maraj Johal took three wickets.
The result leaves the Bears in second place having won five of the eight games they’ve played so far.
