Report: Gloucestershire v Bears, Second XI T20
Bears fell nine runs short in their Second XI T20 Central Group chase against Gloucestershire at Bristol.
Winning the toss and batting first, the hosts reached 176/6 with wickets for Hamza Shaikh (2), Taz Ali, Olly Hannon-Dalby, and Manraj Johal.
In reply, Bears were 44/3 after seven overs, but a 67-run partnership between Captain Will Rhodes (52) and Ed Barnard (58) gave the Bears hope.
But when Rhodes, who fired 77* the previous day against Somerset, was bowled, Bears weren’t able to build another significant partnership around Barnard.
Mo Sheikh’s side have now won four matches from five matches, with their next fixture taking place on Wednesday against Worcestershire at Barnt Green (11.30am start).
