Report: Gloucestershire v Bears, Women's T20 - Match Two
Bears Women made it back-to-back victories after winning their second T20 match of the day against Gloucestershire Women by eight wickets.
Victory meant the Bears picked up maximum points from the day and end the group stage at the top of the Group 3 table, with five wins from six matches.
Bowling first, the Bears restricted Gloucestershire to 114 all out, dismissing the hosts in the final over of the innings. Anisha Patel (3/15) shone in the second game with three wickets, while Hannah Baker (2/21) picked up two wickets.
It only took the Bears 10.5 overs to reach their 115-run target and it was the Captain Marie Kelly who once again led the way, this time with a blistering 60 off just 27 balls. Kelly’s half-century was reached in just 15 balls, which is believed to be a new record in Women’s T20s, beating Lizelle Lee’s 17 balls for Surrey Stars v Lancashire Thunder in 2019
The Bears reached their target with Gwenan Davies (26 not out), and Thea Brookes (11 not out) at the crease to top off two dominant performances in Bristol.
