Bangladesh Academy 200 all out (45.0 overs)
Warwickshire 2nd XI 175 all out (43.1 overs)
Bangladesh Academy won by 25 runs
Winning the toss and fielding first at Barnt Green CC, Warwickshire’s Oliver Hannon-Dalby had two early successes, removing both openers to catches by wicket-keeper Johnson, before a third wicket partnership of 63 between Shantu 87 and Amin 37 put the visitors back on track.
Sunny Singh continued his fine recent form with a ten over spell, taking 5-40, as the Bangladesh lower order fell away, losing their last five wickets for just ten runs.
Josh Poysden took 2-30 with Richardson claiming the other Bangladesh wicket as the visitors’ innings closed on exactly 200 from 45 overs.
In reply, Andrew Umeed was run out for 14, with Ed Pollock 14 and Adam Hose 5 following quickly, before a half-century partnership between Liam Banks 41 and Alex Thomson 56 looked to be turning the match Warwickshire’s way.
However, once the fourth wicket pair had gone, the remaining batsmen found scoring difficult and with Johnson 13, being the only other Warwickshire batsman to reach double figures. The innings closed with the home side 26runs short of the target.
The wickets were spread around the Bangladesh bowlers, with Rony, Hussein, Hasan and Ahmed each taking two.
