Day 1
Gloucestershire chose to field on the opening morning of their Second XI Friendly match at Coventry & North Warwickshire Cricket Club, under rain-filled skies, threatening throughout the day.
Fresh from his successful day at the NatWest T20 Finals the previous weekend, Ed Pollock went quickly to Miles for four, with Sam Hain 11 quickly following in the eighth over.
Heavy showers brought the players off the field before Liam Banks 25 was caught off Gregory and Alex Thomson 7, became Chris Liddle’s second victim with just 62 runs on the board.
An unbroken fifth wicket partnership of 134 between Adam Hose 91* and Alec Mellor 48* helped Warwickshire close the first day on 196-4 from just 45 possible overs on a weather ruined opening day.
Day 2
Weather again intervened on the second day when Hose and Mellor took their unbeaten overnight partnership on to 286 before Hose was dismissed for 181 from 170 deliveries faced, while Mellor also completed an unbeaten century and was 118, when Warwickshire declared on 391-6.
There was time for Oliver Hannon-Dalby to remove both openers, while Henry Brookes and Boyd Rankin each collected a further wicket, before stumps, when Gloucestershire were 91-4 from 28.4 overs after rain brought an early end to the day’s play.
Day 3
Josh Poysden proved almost unplayable on the final day taking five wickets in less than nine overs to help bowl Gloucestershire out for 192 after Garrett 49*, Miles 32 and Gilmour 28 had helped hold the Warwickshire attack up into the second session of the day.
Trailing by 199 and being invited to follow-on, Gloucestershire were 105-4 from 39 overs when bad light brought an early close to the day and forcing the abandonment as a draw.
Hannon-Dalby took two of the four wickets to fall with Poysden and Brookes taking the other two.
