Warwickshire 10 points Lancashire 3 points

Day 1

Lancashire won the toss and chose to field but found Warwickshire’s opening pair of Andrew Umeed 90* and Liam Banks 55 in good form as they recorded a century opening partnership before Banks was lbw to Luke Procter.

After the strong start, the middle-order disappointingly failed to take advantage, with Pollock 13, Lamb 9, Mellor 9, Harrison 14 and Panayi 13, all failing to push on, while Umeed remained at the other end.

Thornton’s aggressive 40 from 61 deliveries featured in a seventh wicket partnership of 58 with Umeed. After his dismissal, Wright and Brookes quickly followed as Warwickshire closed an opening day disrupted by the weather on 278-9 from the possible 77 overs in the day.

Day 2

The second day was completely lost to the weather

Day 3

It took just eight deliveries on the final morning to wrap up the Warwickshire innings on 279 with Umeed adding a single before falling to Parkinson.

In reply, Lancashire lost Turner 1 and Jones 5 to Chris Wright’s opening burst, but Hameed 71 and Proctor 97 then added 162 runs for the third wicket. Bohannon then hammered five sixes in his 75 to take Lancashire into a 22 run lead before a declaration on 301-5 from 73.4 overs. Sunny Singh recorded figures of 2-68..

Warwickshire hadn’t begun their second innings when the weather prevented any further play and the match was drawn.
