Report: Warwickshire v SACA, Second XI Friendly
An entertaining run chase in prospect was thwarted by bad weather as SACA completed a 20-run victory (DLS) over Warwickshire’s Second XI at the Edgbaston Community Sports Ground.
Batting first, the South Asian Cricket Academy reached 303/8 from their 50 overs with Ismail Mohammad firing an unbeaten 141. In reply, the Bears mustered 59/2 from 20 overs, 20 runs short of the 79 DLS target, as the expected rain washed out nearly all of Birmingham.
It was a frustrating end to a game that promised a lot with Jake Lintott and Kai Smith well set at the crease.
One positive for the Bears was the return of Liam Norwell, who finished with one for 20 from six overs. Craig Miles, who bowled 14 overs during last week’s Second XI win over Northants, added another eight overs to his pot, finishing with two for 53.
