Report: Warwickshire v South Asian Cricket Academy, Second XI Friendly
A dazzling double century from Adam Hose set up an innings victory for Warwickshire Second XI over South Asian Cricket Academy at Portland Road.
Hose blasted an unbeaten 201 (254 balls, 24 fours, six sixes) to underpin a match-winning total either side of which the Bears bowlers performed collectively well to take 20 wickets.
Batting first, SACA made just 199 as Che Simmonds took four for 36, well-supported by Ethan and Henry Brookes who shared five wickets.
Hose then powered the Bears’ reply to 421 with Jacob Bethell making a fluent 49 and again the Brookes boys making important contributions – Ethan scoring 38 and Henry 36.
SACA were bowled out for 124 second time round, with Henry Brookes taking four for 38 and two wickets apiece for George Garrett and Umar Shaikh.
Liam Norwell, rested from the firsts following his concussion injury, bowled 17 overs in the match to move closer to a possible first team return against Northamptonshire at Edgbaston next week.
