Will Rhodes believes his side are well set for a charge up the table once the County Championship returns in mid-June.
The Captain has overseen a condensed schedule that includes just one defeat from the opening six games, leaving the Bears 32 points behind Hampshire at the top of the table.
“With a lot of positivity to be honest,” Rhodes said when reflecting on the Bears start. “We’re not in the position on the league table where we would perhaps like to be, but I think we’re in striking distance of the teams above us.
“We’ve still got those guys to play as well, but I think we’ve got to reflect on the positive things that we’ve done. We’ve saved games where we’ve been really behind and guys have batted outstandingly well to get us into positions where we can save those games.
“We’re still in the hunt and we’re unbeaten in five of the six games. We can’t ask for much more than that.”
