We caught up with First Team Coach Mark Robinson to talk about his side's preparation ahead of Thursday's opening LV= County Championship match against Derbyshire at Edgbaston.

“We’ve done really well,” said Robinson. “Ideally, you’d like another game with the weather and the time of year doesn’t permit that, but the players couldn’t have done anymore.

“It was hard conditions at a wind-swept open ground at Weetwood and it got very unpleasant during that last day and a half.

“But, as they have been all pre-season and since I’ve arrived the players have been great. No whinging, no moaning, they got stuck in and got what they needed out the game.”
