Luke Ronchi spoke to Brian Halford following his Man of the Man 53 off 37 balls in the NatWest T20 Blast victory over Lancashire Lightning at Edgbaston.

“You have just got to run with it and make the most of your luck and when you get dropped make the most of it,” he said. “It was the sort of wicket where you could hit the ball when it was a bit full but they bowled well towards the end with a lot of slower balls to make it difficult for us.

“Changes of pace in the bowling made it quite difficult and when they held it back a bit, it just made it harder to score freely. We also kept losing wickets just when we got a partnership going.

“The total we had was probably a little bit less than we wanted but it was defendable and it’s always good to have runs on the board and then to go out there just believing you can defend whatever you’ve got.

“But we took early wickets which we are always capable of doing so that put us comfortably ahead on the Duckworth-Lewis when the rain came.”
