Sam Hain has been named in a 13-player squad for England Men’s Metro Bank One-Day Series against Ireland Men this month.
The 28-year-old, who averages 57.96 in List A cricket, has finally earned the opportunity of international honours.
Passing 13,000 runs across all formats earlier this year, Hain brings 1,841 runs in the format he’s played just 35 times for Warwickshire. In T20 cricket, the right-hander has a stellar track record, becoming the Bears all-time leading run scorer, and currently sitting on 3,210 runs.
For the Three Lions, Hain has 20 England Lions appearances in the bank, scoring 784 runs at an average 46.11.
The England Men’s selection panel consulted with the first-class counties, and weighed their ambitions in the run-in to the end of the LV= Insurance County Championship season, before finalising the squad.
