Warwickshire have released young seamer Manraj Johal following the expiry of his contract.

The 22-year-old progressed through Warwickshire’s Youth Pathway from the Under-11s into the professional ranks but he’s not been able to break into the senior side in either of the last two seasons.

Birmingham-born Mannie will be remembered for his First Class debut at Lord’s at the end of the 2021 season when his four wickets helped Warwickshire beat Lancashire to lift the Bob Willis Trophy.

He also made six List A appearances that summer, taking seven wickets at an average of 32.67.

Warwickshire Performance Director Gavin Larsen, said: “It’s always sad when people move on from Warwickshire. Manraj is a top person who came through our Youth Pathway which naturally makes his departures even tougher.

“And as we like to say, Once a Bear Always a Bear. We wish him all the very best for the future.”
