Warwickshire opening batsman Dom Sibley rounded off an excellent week, that had seen him named in the England Test squad for the tour of New Zealand, by picking up three accolades at the club’s End of Season Dinner & Awards night.

Sibley (24) who scored 1,324 runs for the Bears in Championship cricket in 2019, including five centuries, received the Kim Jones Cup for Performance of the Season for his double hundred away to Kent and was also awarded Members’ Player of the Season and Players’ Player of the Season.

The evening brought together the Warwickshire men’s, women’s and access teams at the Banqueting Suite at Edgbaston, with 12 trophies presented across the three teams.

Bears fast bowler Liam Norwell received the Community Engagement Award in his debut season, 19-year-old Moseley batsman Rob Yates was named Young Player of the Year after scoring 570 Championship runs in his breakthrough season, whilst fellow Academy graduate Dan Mousley scooped Second XI Player of the Year.

Skipper Marie Kelly took women’s team Players’ Player of the Year Award after leading the Bears to the Vitality County Women’s T20, which is the first major women’s trophy won by the club. All-rounder Bethan Ellis took the Coaches Award.

The women’s team Second XI awards were shared by bowlers Emily Perrin, who took the Players’ Player of the Year, and Alice Dixon, who was awarded Coaches Player of the Year.

Seam-bowling all-rounder Hannah Pettigrew took the Coaches Player of the Season for Warwickshire Access whilst wicket-keeper/batsman Phil Turton took the Players’ Player of the Year award.
