Warwickshire and England batsman Dom Sibley is set to miss the next two LV= Insurance County Championship matches after scans revealed that he has fractured his right middle finger.
The Bears play Essex starting on Thursday at Edgbaston and then take on Durham at Emirates Riverside on 29 April.
The ECB and Warwickshire medical teams will review Sibley at the end of the month and will then take a view on his return to playing.
The injury occurred while Sibley was fielding during the LV= Insurance Championship victory over Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge last week.
