Following Paul Farbrace's decision to step down, Warwickshire County Cricket Club has begun the recruitment for his successor.

The Club is looking for a dynamic, forward-looking thinker who understands what it takes to win, but also how to win the right way, by developing a healthy elite culture, a strong pipeline of locally developed talent and a strong support infrastructure (facilities, pitches, medical, S&C, psychology, coaching, etc.).

Our ambition is to inspire through winning teams by winning domestic competition on a sustained basis where possible. To do this, the Director of Cricket will be tasked with devising and delivering an innovative strategy that develops a squad of players capable of winning, who represent the diverse communities we serve across Birmingham and Warwickshire and the potential to represent England.

The successful candidate will have full responsibility for the elite cricket budget and the day-to-day running of the Cricket Department covering:

  • Senior Men’s Cricket
  • Senior Women’s Cricket
  • Player Pathway/Academy
  • Science & Medicine
  • Cricket Operations
  • Ground Staff

Stuart Cain, Chief Executive, said: “As a business, the ambition is simple; to be the Best Cricket Business in the World by inspiring through winning teams, across both the men’s and women’s game, while creating closer links with the local community and recreational game to attract the best talent to the Club.

“The Club now needs an inspirational leader who can take this aspiration to the next level, bringing a winning mentality to the elite squads that translates into trophies, the development of future England players and one of the best community-based talent pathways in the global game. It’s a big challenge, at a high profile Club, but one that offers incredible reward and recognition for the right candidate.

“We’re excited by the level of interest shown so far and encourage applicants from any walk of life who have the relevant skills and experience to apply.”
