Women’s and girls’ cricket is set to be transformed as part of an exciting strategy to Inspire Generations by connecting communities and improving lives through cricket, ensuring cricket is a game for all.

West Midlands Women’s Cricket (WMWC) are looking for a passionate and personable Head Coach who can lead a multi-disciplinary team setting short, medium and longer terms goals. The Head Coach will play a pivotal role in developing talent within the Region.

This exciting role will involve devising, leading and managing the holistic development of 5 full time players, and a Senior team which will compete in the 50 over and T20 competitions within the new Women’s Elite Domestic Structure.

The West Midlands region comprises the counties of Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire and Worcestershire. Warwickshire Women’s are the current National T20 champions and the U17 National 40 over champions was an all-West Midlands affair with Warwickshire narrowly defeating Staffordshire. The region is showing great promise.

This exciting role will play a significant part in this new start-up operation and will suit those who possess effective and high level delivery, planning and organisational skills required to deliver a professional programme of activity integrating all elements associated with high performance.

The Head Coach will have a high degree of personal resilience to cope with the demands of coaching at this level and to be relied on by the organisation, players and staff to handle pressure in critical moments and as demands require.

Reporting to the Regional Director of Women’s Cricket, the role will be based at a number of venues throughout the West Midlands. The role will require extensive travel throughout the region as well as requiring extended hours, inclusive of weekends and bank holidays.

We are seeking an individual who can demonstrate a thirst for continuous personal development to ensure the programme remains at the cutting edge of elite coaching and performance as well as excellent knowledge of women’s cricket and a clear vision of how it can be improved within the Region.
