New signing Ethan Bamber says he’s counting down the days to his Warwickshire debut as he looks to make an instant impact in Bears’ bowling attack.

Seamer Bamber – who has almost 200 First Class wickets to his name – signed a three-year, all-formats deal at Warwickshire earlier this year.

He visited Edgbaston for only the second time for this interview.

His first visit, in July 2023, saw him leave with career-best figures of 5/20 for Middlesex in the County Championship – the wickets of Hain, Mousley, Barnard, Bethell, and Burgess – and nine in the game.

“It was an incredible first game at Edgbaston, that’s for sure,” said the 25-year-old. “Hopefully there will be lots more wickets as a Bear. I’m sure they will come.

“I’m dead excited to get started. Bears fans can expect commitment and consistency, plus lots of enjoyment. I love my cricket and bowling. And I enjoy being part of the team and other people’s success.”
