Warwickshire Bears are delighted to announce the signing of Australian batter Georgia Redmayne for the 2026 season, where she will compete in both the Vitality Blast and Metro Bank One Day Cup.
The 32-year-old is an effective top-order batter and a highly experienced campaigner, having featured in franchise leagues around the world, including stints with the Barbados Royals in the Caribbean Premier League and with London Spirit and Welsh Fire in The Hundred.
Redmayne will join up with the squad ahead of the season and will remain in the UK until the end of the Vitality Blast season. The Bears had an exceptional campaign last summer, reaching the inaugural Women’s Blast Final at the Kia Oval.
They will be looking to go one better this year, and in Redmayne, they have added a player with over 150 professional T20 appearances and just shy of 3,000 runs to her name, and the Bears will relish her contribution in both 20-over and 50-over cricket.
Redmayne said: “I’m really excited to be joining the Bears. Watching the group reach the final last summer showed the ambition and quality in the squad, and I’m looking forward to being part of a team that’s pushing to go one better.
“The Blast is a competition I’ve always enjoyed, and the chance to play a full campaign at Edgbaston was a big draw. I pride myself on bringing energy at the top of the order, so hopefully I can contribute and help the Bears have another strong season in multiple formats.”
Bears Head Coach Ali Maiden said: “Georgia’s someone who really fits the profile of what we’re building. She’s played enough T20 cricket around the world to understand how to manage moments, and that experience counts in the Blast.
“She gives us real clarity and class with the bat, and we’re looking forward to seeing what she’ll bring to the group.”
The Bears get their Vitality Blast campaign underway on 22 May with an away match against Durham, before returning home two days later to face Somerset in a double-header to get Edgbaston’s Blast summer up and running, while the Metro Bank One Day Cup season begins on Saturday 11 April against Surrey.
