Warwickshire County Cricket Club has confirmed the release of Jenny Gunn from the Women’s squad with the all-rounder returning to her home county, Nottinghamshire.
Laura MacLeod, Women’s & Girl’s Performance Manager at Warwickshire CCC, said: “Jenny took a break from the game last winter, for the first time in her 15-year career, so hasn’t been part of our pre-season training programme with the rest of the squad.
Whilst Jenny is a World Cup winner, we have several young, homegrown players who are part of the England pathways and are ready to step up to first team county cricket.

“Whilst Jenny is a World Cup winner and has been established in the international game for several years, we have several young, homegrown players who are part of the England pathways and are ready to step up to first team county cricket.
“It’s imperative for us as a club that we enable the progression of these young players and give them opportunities to develop”.
“Jenny has been part of the Warwickshire Women’s set-up since the start of the 2016 season, so I would like to thank her for everything that she has given to the Bear and Ragged Staff in those three seasons. We wish her the very best with her future in the game.”
