Bears players are set to benefit from cutting-edge clinical support after Warwickshire agreed a new commercial partnership with The Priory Hospital, part of Circle Health Group in Birmingham.

The hospital on Priory Road in Edgbaston has signed a three-year agreement to become Warwickshire County Cricket Club and Edgbaston’s Official Private Hospital Partner.

The deal will give Warwickshire’s medical and physiotherapy team access to the latest technology for MRI scans, X-rays, CT and ultrasound scans, plus consultancy support from some of the region’s leading healthcare specialists.

Warwickshire Lead Physiotherapist, Gerhard Mostert, said the partnership will allow him and his team to get fast access and quick diagnosis on player injuries.

He said: “The location couldn’t be any better for us, so close to the stadium, as it means we can send players for an assessment on injuries mid-game if needed and get a diagnosis in a matter of minutes.

“We might send players for scans up to 30 times a year; it’s an important part of our player care. Working closely with the Priory Hospital will help us manage medical conditions and our return-to-play plans for injured players.”

The partnership will see the Priory Hospital granted pitch-side advertising at Edgbaston, plus web advertising, and be the Club’s Headline Partner for the Community Day double-header on Saturday 8 June when Bears face Durham in the Vitality Blast.

On the day – which starts with Central Sparks versus Northern Diamonds – colleagues from the Priory Hospital will be available to chat with players and fans.

Silvie Adams, Executive Director of the Priory Hospital, said: “We are looking forward to supporting Warwickshire County Cricket Club on and off the field as their Official Private Hospital Partner.

“Having fast access to state-of-the-art imaging and diagnostic services is essential to ensuring players can continue competing at the highest level of the domestic game. On behalf of colleagues and Consultants at the hospital, we wish the Bears the very best of luck for the season ahead.”

The Priory Hospital offers a range of treatments and services using some of the latest technology and equipment for rapid access to diagnosis and treatment.

Ben Seifas, Head of Partnerships at Edgbaston, added: “I’m delighted the Priory Hospital has joined the Bears family as our exclusive Private Hospital Partner.

“The Priory Hospital is on our doorstep in Edgbaston, so it’s a natural local partnership, and the specialist support and technology they can offer our players is second to none.”
