Warwickshire is throwing open its doors to cricketers who are hoping to pursue their dream of a career in the sport.

The Club is hosting an open trial event on Tuesday 19 December at the Edgbaston Cricket Centre, Edgbaston Stadium for men and women aged 18 to 25.

It’s an opportunity for talented players from anywhere in the country to stake a claim to become a future Bear.

Perhaps you did not have access to a county pathway programme? Maybe an injury held you back. Or perhaps you were a late developer?

Anyone interested in signing up should complete this online application form before 12pm on Friday 8 December.

Warwickshire High Performance Manager Paul Greetham, said: “It’s a chance for talented players who’ve fallen through the net for whatever reason to showcase their ability and be seen by a number of our coaching staff’.

“We know cricket in the universities, National Counties, the MCC Young Cricketers programme and the South Asian Cricket Association (SACA) have produced high quality players for the professional game. Many of these players in the 18-25 age range have not come through traditional county pathways or Academies.

“We’ve run open events like this in the past and signed players – as other counties have – who’ve attended.

“Our indoor cricket centre in mid-December will be full of talented, high potential players who may just need the opportunity to be in the right place at the right time.”

Candidates need to be British passport holders, have experience of a good standard of league or amateur cricket, and have aspirations to play professionally.

The Club will be in touch with everyone who has applied notifying of outcomes and timings for the trials. Due to capacity restrictions, it may not be possible to invite all players who apply.
