Warwickshire and Birmingham Bears wicket-keeper Tim Ambrose has signed a one-year contract extension to remain at Edgbaston until at least the end of the 2019 season.
Ambrose (35) joined the Bears from Sussex ahead of the 2006 season and has made 172 First Class, 122 List A and 87 T20 appearances for the club and has won all domestic trophies during his time at Edgbaston, including the County Championship in 2012, Blast in 2014 and Royal London One-Day Cup in 2016.

He also won 11 Test, five One-Day International and one T20 caps for England between 2008 and 2009.
Ashley Giles, Sport Director at Warwickshire CCC, said: “Amby has continued to make major contributions to the team across all format this season, and he remains one of the best wicket-keeper/batsmen in the domestic game.
“He’s also a great bloke who sets very high standards and plays an important role in helping our young cricketers come through.
“We’re thrilled that he has signed an extension and will remain a Bear for at least the 2019 season.”
During his time with the Bears, Ambrose has scored 11,750 runs, taken 665 catches and made 77 stumpings across all formats.
“I’m obviously very happy to sign an extension and to stay with the Bears for at least one more season,” said Tim Ambrose.
“With Warwickshire and Birmingham Bears, we as players and our supporters expect to be able to compete for trophies in all three forms of the game, and that has largely been the case throughout my career.
“Admittedly we had a tough season last year, but there has been some good recruitment and some excellent young players have stepped up this season.
“It’s a very exciting time to be a Bear and hopefully we can build on our strong start to the Championship and get back to Division 1.”
