Warwickshire County Cricket Club and the Warwickshire Cricket Board recently united to reward the unsung heroes of the game at local level by staging the NatWest Outstanding Service to Cricket Awards (OSCAs) in the Edgbaston Committee Lounge during the second day of our Specsavers County Championship match against Lancashire.
The OSCAs are a wonderful occasion in the Warwickshire Cricket Board calendar, which provide an opportunity to learn about some very special people who give up their time to serve our great game.
Cricket is a sport, which relies greatly on the volunteers that run it. From your club and youth chairmen, Groundsmen to the junior coaches and officials, there are countless people who give up their time so that cricket can be played at clubs and community settings all over Warwickshire.
There are also numerous volunteers in the community supporting cricket delivery in schools, community groups and informal settings. The world of Warwickshire club cricket is very diverse but we are all united in our love of the game.
